Healthy Recipes Made Using Olive Oil

Olive oil is an extremely healthy oil for cooking that can be used much ease even in salads when one comes to think about it. The great thing about this oil is that its different varieties can be used for cooking, making marinades and also dressing that gorgeous salad! 

Here are a few low-calorie recipes that this we absolutely love and that are extremely easy to make as well.

Baked Potatoes

Now who does not like a good crispy yet soft baked potato? We all do of course. So here is a recipe made with just 3 ingredients

Ingredients
  • 3 large potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Seasoning (optional)
Method
Start by preheating your oven to 350-degree Fahrenheit or 180 degree Celsius.
Same can be done in a convection microwave
Now, using a fork, prick your potatoes from all directions.
After the potato has been pricked well, brush the potatoes with olive oil
Before putting the potatoes in the oven to bake, just sprinkle a little salt on them
Bake for an hour and serve hot.

Tzatziki

Cucumbers are potentially only ever used for salads at best. However, these veggies, when combined with thick yogurt, makes for some of the best sauce that you might have ever come across. Have a look at one the healthy recipes you will ever read

Ingredients
  • 1 cup finely diced or grated cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon chopped dill (optional)
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced and chopped finely
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 cup Yogurt, hung over night to let all the whey drain
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Dash of olive oil

Method
Just combine all the ingredients listed in one bowl and chill in the fridge for at least one hour or overnight

Yogurt and Egg Salad
This recipe might just be one of the best and the easiest you will come across. With the zingy yogurt and the egg white combo, this one is an absolute delight

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt or normal yogurt if Greek cannot be found
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber
  • 2 Tomatoes quartered
  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • Pink Salt to taste
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Chopped herbs of your choice like oregano, basil etc
  • Toasted bread brushed with olive oil

Method
Start by whisking the egg whites till fluffy
Add salt to taste and any seasoning you might like
Heat a pan with a little olive oil and pour the fluffed-up egg white mixture into it
Let the egg cook well on both sides before taking it off the heat.
Now, in a shallow bowl, spread the yogurt
Place the prepared egg whites on top of the yogurt
Dropped the cucumbers and tomatoes onto the eggs
Drizzle this brilliant bowl with the extra virgin olive oil
And sprinkle the salt, pepper and herbs onto the bowl
Serve with warm toast
